Retired 19th JDC Commissioner Allen J. Bergeron, Jr., 74, died Sunday, May 30, 2010. He earned his BA from LSU in 1959 and his JD from LSU School of Law in 1968. Commissioner Bergeron began his law practice in 1968 with a firm in Baton Rouge, where he remained until he was in private practice from 1974-1977. Additionally, he was also associated with the state Revenue Department during his legal career. In 1979 he was in full-time practice with the Public Defender’s Office in Baton Rouge where he remained until he was designated as the Commissioner for the 19th JDC later that year. He retired in 2001.
