Retired 24th JDC Judge Louis DeSonier, 90, died Saturday, March 13, 2010. After service in the U.S. Air Force in World War II, Judge DeSonier received his LL.B. in 1952 from Loyola University in New Orleans, later returning to earn his JD from the same university in 1968. In 1963 he was appointed Parish Attorney for the Parish of Jefferson and served in that capacity until his appointment in 1971 to fill an unexpired term on the 24th JDC. In the following year’s election he ran for that same seat and was elected and served there until his retirement in 1981. He served as President of the Jefferson Bar Association and was a member of the American Bar Association and Louisiana State Bar Association where he served eight years in the House of Delegates and two terms on the Board of Governors. |
