Retired 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal Judge John Larry Lolley, 71, died Sunday, February 18, 2018. He earned his BA degree from Northeast Louisiana University in 1968 and his JD degree from Loyola University in 1971. He served as prosecuting attorney for the City of Monroe from 1973 until his election as judge of Monroe City Court in 1979. He was elected to the 4th JDC in 1997, and to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal in 2003. He served there until his retirement from the bench in 2017. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve and in 1995 retired as a colonel after 27 years of service.
