Retired Bastrop City Judge Frank Woodrow “Woody” Wilson, 89, died Monday, July 8, 2013. He was a World War II veteran, serving as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Prior to his service in the war, he attended what is now the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Following his discharge he earned his JD degree from LSU Law School, graduating in 1949. He returned to Bastrop where he established a successful law practice, which he maintained until his death. He served in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1954-1962. He served as judge of Bastrop City Court for 24 years until his retirement in 1984.
