Retired 14th JDC Judge W. Ellis Bond, 75, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2000. A Navy veteran of World War II, he passed the bar in 1955 and was in the general practice of law from 1955 until he took his first oath of office at the 14th JDC in 1979.  He was reelected to that seat in 1984 and served there until his retirement in 1990.  He was a member of the Louisiana State, Southwest Louisiana and American Bar Associations and served on a number of bar committees.
