Retired Orleans Parish Criminal Court Judge Oliver Paul Schulingkamp died May 12, 2001 in Metairie, La. Judge Schulingkamp earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and his juris doctor degree from the LSU School of Law, graduating with law review honors. He was an Orleans Parish assistant district attorney from 1952-1954, returning to private practice from 1954-1960. In 1960, he was appointed judge of Section F of Orleans Parish Criminal District Court and was subsequently elected to two terms as judge. He retired in 1981.
