CALCASIEU PARISH CLERK OF COURT'S OFFICE (pdf)

Due to a power outage in the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court’s offices, the Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court’s office closed at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 and will re-open on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 8:30 a.m.

This closure shall be considered a legal holiday in accordance with LSA R.S. 1:55.

If the outage continues and the Clerk of Court’s office should remain closed beyond Wednesday, September 14, 2016, notice of the closure will be posted on the Clerk of Court’s website, on the Louisiana Supreme Court website (www.lasc.org) and in the news media.

  • 3RD JUSTICE COURT/ASCENSION PARISH - Due to the flooding of the 3rd Justice Court in Ascension Parish, the court will be closed until further notice.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 18, 2016

  • 1ST CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEAL - The First Circuit Court of Appeal will be open on Thursday, August 18, 2016, and Friday, August 19, 2016. Pursuant to the Court's Emergency Operations Plan, the Court will be open, but staffed with essential personnel only. The public should only travel to the courthouse if they are able to safely do so.
  • 15TH JDC - Closure order for Acadia Parish Courthouse on Thursday, August 18, 2016.  The Vermilion Parish Courthouse will reopen Thursday, August 18, 2016; however employees and the public should only travel to the courthouse if they are able to safely do so.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2016

  • 1ST CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEAL - The Court of Appeal, First Circuit, will open for business on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at 8:30 a.m. Employees who can safely report to work should do so. All employees are encouraged to contact your supervisor to advise of your situation and of any needs you may have.

  • 15TH JDC - Closure order for Acadia and Vermilion Parish Courthouses on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. The Vermilion Parish Courthouse will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, August 18, 2016; however employees and the public should only travel to the courthouse if they are able to safely do so.
  • BATON ROUGE CITY COURT - Baton Rouge City Court will be closed Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
  • EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH JUVENILE COURT - EBR Juvenile Court will be closed on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.

  • FAMILY COURT OF EAST BATON ROUGE - Family Court of East Baton Rouge will be closed Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
  • 19TH JDC - The 19th JDC will be closed Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
  • 21ST JDC - Livingston and St. Helena courts closed on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
  • 23RD JDC - All parishes of the 23rd JDC, as well as Ascension Parish Court, will reopen on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
  • CROWLEY CITY COURT - Due to the severe flooding in the Crowley area and power outages, City Court of Crowley is closed from Monday, August 15 through Wednesday, August 17th. The Court will re-open on Thursday, August 18th.

 

TUESDAY, AUGUST 16, 2016

  • 1ST CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEAL - Due to the continuing conditions associated with the flooding in the area, the Louisiana Court of Appeal, First Circuit, will be closed Tuesday, August 16, 2016. All filings due during the period of court closure or which become due during the period of closure shall be deemed timely if filed on or before Wednesday, August 17, 2016.

  • 15TH JDC - Closure order for Acadia and Vermilion Parish Courthouses on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.  Lafayette Parish Courthouse shall reopen on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
  • BATON ROUGE CITY COURT - Baton Rouge City Court will be closed Tuesday, August 16, 2016.

  • EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH JUVENILE COURT - EBR Juvenile Court will be closed on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.

  • FAMILY COURT OF EAST BATON ROUGE - Family Court of East Baton Rouge is closed Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
  • 19TH JDC - The 19th JDC is closed Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
  • 21ST JDC - Livingston and St. Helena courts closed on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Tangipahoa Court will resume on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
  • 23RD JDC/ASCENSION PARISH COURTHOUSE - The 23rd Judicial District Court for the Parish of Ascension, including the Gonzales and Donaldsonville courthouses, as well as Ascension Parish Court, shall be closed August 16, 2016.  The Court in Assumption and St. James Parishes shall remain open.
  • CROWLEY CITY COURT - Due to the severe flooding in the Crowley area and power outages, City Court of Crowley is closed from Monday, August 15 through Wednesday, August 17th. The Court will re-open on Thursday, August 18th.
  • ZACHARY CITY COURT - By order of Judge Lonny A. Myles, Zachary City Court will be closed Tuesday, August 16, 2016 due to flooding and hazardous weather conditions.

 

MONDAY, AUGUST 15, 2016

  • 1ST CIRCUIT COURT OF APPEAL - Due to the inclement weather, the Louisiana Court of Appeal, 1st Circuit will be closed Monday 8/15/2016. All filings due during the period of court closure or which become due during the period of closure shall be deemed timely if filed on or before Tuesday 8/16/2016.

 

FRIDAY, AUGUST 12, 2016

  • BAKER CITY COURT - Baker City Court for the Parish of East Baton Rouge shall be closed from 10:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Friday, August 12, 2016.
  • BATON ROUGE CITY COURT - By order of Administrative Judge, Judge Laura Prosser, Baton Rouge City Court is closed today, August 12, 2016 due to extreme weather conditions and for the safety of personnel and the public.
  • EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH JUVENILE COURT - EBR Juvenile Court will be closed on Friday, August 12, 2016.

  • FAMILY COURT OF EAST BATON ROUGE - Family Court of East Baton Rouge is closed Friday, August 12, 2016.
  • 19TH JDC - The 19th JDC is closed today, Friday, August 12, 2016 due to inclement weather.
  • WASHINGTON PARISH - The Washington Parish Courthouse and Washington Parish Clerk of Court's Office will be closed on Friday, August 12, 2016.
  • 15TH JDC - Due to hazardous weather conditions, all courthouses in the 15th Judicial District will be closed for business on Friday, August 12, 2016, with the exception of the matter scheduled before Judge Marilyn Castle entitled D & D Cajun Ventures, etal v. Atlantic Richfield Company, etal (Vermilion suit being heard in Lafayette courthouse).
  • 21ST JDC - The 21st JDC is closed on Friday, August 12, 2016.
  • MCLE - Due to loss of power, the MCLE Offices will be closed on Friday, August 12, 2016.

 

NEW: Louisiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Bernette Joshua Johnson announced, due to the flood conditions affecting several Louisiana parishes, numerous state and federal courts have temporarily closed until conditions improve
