TRAINING SEMINARS
2008 LPOR REGIONAL SEMINARS
Since the registry was launched in 1999, we have conducted seminars across the state to explain how LPOR works, to educate those with a need-to-know about the state and federal laws related to issuing and enforcing orders of protection, and to disseminate the standardized forms that are mandated for use by all courts. In 2008, we will conduct six half-day regional seminars designed for judicial law clerks, clerks of court, court administrators, prosecutors, probation and parole officers, law enforcement personnel, victim/witness service providers, victim advocates, attorneys, and others whose work brings them into contact with families affected by domestic violence. Participant sign-in is from 8:00 to 8:30 A.M.; the seminar will start promptly at 8:30 A.M. and end at 12:30 P.M. Registration is required, as space is limited and participant materials must be pre-ordered. As always, there will be no charge for the seminar or materials. In addition, refreshments will be served at sign-in. CLE credit will be available.
Specific details regarding each seminar will be faxed a few days prior to the event to those who have registered. Our schedule of regional seminars in 2008 is as follows:
April 11, 2008 Lafayette, LA - Hotel Acadiana
June 27, 2008 New Orleans, LA - Bourbon Orleans Hotel
July 25, 2008 Shreveport, LA - Shreveport Convention Center
September 19, 2008 Alexandria, LA - Alexandria Fulton Hotel
