Born in New Orleans, June 14, 1924 • First African-American to serve on the Louisiana Supreme Court, as well as the first to serve on the Orleans Parish Civil District Court and its first Chief Judge • Appointed by five Presidents to various commissions and councils • Chairman of the New Orleans Aviation Board for eight years • Served as an officer in the Army during World War II • Died in Baton Rouge, June 22, 2008
