Cole</p><p>&nbsp;</p></div><div class=" col=" "="" col-md-8"=""><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The Judicial Council is composed of 20 members representing the Judiciary, the Legislature, the Louisiana District Attorneys Association, the Public Defender Board/Criminal Defense Bar, the Louisiana Clerks of Court Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, Citizens of the State of Louisiana, Louisiana State Bar Association Young Lawyers&rsquo; Section (<em>non-voting</em>), and the Louisiana State Law Institute (<em>non-voting</em>).&nbsp; The Chief Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court serves as Chair of the Council and three other Justices serve as members. The Council and its various committees are staffed by the office of the Judicial Administrator.&nbsp; Membership is set forth in <a href="/Supreme_Court_Rules?p=RuleXXII">Supreme Court Rule XXII</a>, amended effective January 1, 2026. </p><p>&nbsp;</p></div></div></div></div>
