01-12-2022 The Louisiana Supreme Court Announces Extension of Building Closure to Public Traffic; January Oral Arguments will be Live with Counsel Only
The Louisiana Supreme Court announced that until further notice, the Chief Justice Pascal F. Calogero, Jr. Courthouse will remain closed to the public. This closure extension is due to the spread of COVID-19 and the rising number of cases in Louisiana, and in consideration of public health recommendations to reduce the risk of exposure.

Chief Judge James F. McKay Ill has announced his retirement from the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal, effective January 3, 2022. With the retirement of Chief Judge McKay, Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal Judge Terri Fleming Love becomes the Chief Judge of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal.

Louisiana Supreme Court Clerk of Court John Tarlton Olivier, who in early 2021 announced his retirement, exited the magnificent Chief Justice Pascal F. Calogero, Jr. Courthouse at 400 Royal Street for the last time as Clerk of Court on December 31, 2021. He served the Louisiana Supreme Court for 36 years, including 25 years and 9 months as Clerk of Court. Olivier has the distinction of being the longest serving Clerk of Court in the history of the Louisiana Supreme Court.
